Food, oh food!

Some people talk about food as if it was sexual. I mean, I'm sitting here listening over the cubicle wall to an obese man describe food to a slim woman as if he was describing his first orgasm. Oh, and it's okay in the work environment because it's not sexual harassment, it's…well, acceptable. But I want to file a claim for food harassment. I hate listening to this day after day. It makes me want to eat, wildly, madly, passionately, without abandon. It makes me want to wallow in chocolate mousse, roll in butter, and dip myself in sour cream.

What is it about food that makes people crazy?

I guess if you can't (or don't) have sex, letting a piece of melted cheese roll across your tongue is probably the next best thing.

Cakes about town?

I confess, I'm a cake-aholic. This is, of course, not good for the waist or the wallet, particularly when the average cake price is 20 bucks.

One of my favorites (which I can buy by the slice) is Nugget's Carrot Cake. It's worth 4 dollars for the slice...but they don't always have it available in that form. That's good. And bad too, when you have an urge for cake and don't want to buy the whole thing--because then you'll have to eat it all. Or invite friends to come and partake. If you have cake-loving friends, which I don't. Sigh.

I've been blogging for awhile on another site: Metroblogging Sacramento, but there are times when I just get tired of hearing myself talk. There are quite a few things going on in the city--but what HASN'T been written about by The Bee already? (Okay, you got me there--a lot.)
